Embracing the mischievous side of his Marvel character Loki, Tom Hiddleston has uploaded a video that is all very smoke and mirrors.

In the video, Hiddleston walks down a graffitied alleyway - looks like it might be the one around the corner from Waterloo station in London - and all that can be heard is the rattle of a passing train. Hiddleston then looks past the camera into the distance, and the words "Betrayal" takes over the screen.

Not much to be taken from the minute-long video, except of course what "Betrayal" means. Is it referencing the actor's Marvel character Loki? Hardly. Many seem to be speculating that the wording refers to Harold Pinter's 'Betrayal'.

Pinter's 1978 play was first produced in the National Theatre in London, starring Michael Gambon. The play has been in many theatres and seen many revivals worldwide since its first outing. The most recent reincarnation of 'Betrayal' had Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz star in the play on Broadway, which broke many Broadway records.

Now, fans have been urging Hiddleston to please put them out of their misery and tell them if their speculation is correct.

Hopefully we'll get some confirmation soon as to what it's all about. But we reckon Hiddleston's headed to the theatre to test his acting chops.
